Why we shoot RAW
To ensure the highest quality in our images, we photograph weddings in RAW file mode. RAW format is unique to professionals. It allows for complete control of the
image during post-production. Just like images from your personal digital camera, a JPG or TIFF file only allows you to make minor adjustments to color and brightness.
RAW file format allows us to manipulate most of the image parameters, just as if we were still standing behind the camera. Our staff individually adjusts and enhances
every single image that goes into your proofs. We adjust the exposure, color temperature, saturation, hue, brightness, contrast, sharpness, and horizontal level. Every
image that you see will look its very best. Why do we go through all this work? Simple, really. We take the time and effort to enhance your images because we know
that these subtle adjustments make for clearer pictures with better color and greater depth of tonality.
Occasionally, like all photographers, we make mistakes when shooting and an image might be underexposed or overexposed. If we shot in JPG or TIFF mode, we would
lose detail in the highlights and the shadow areas. RAW files give us an opportunity to save most of these images, giving you the most complete set of pictures of your
special day. Most photographers avoid RAW files because they are larger, take more memory, and add a time consuming step to the process of proofing your wedding.
At Danielson Creative, we wouldn’t have it any other way. RAW files allow us to make the best possible images. Why should you settle for anything less?
